Reservation Terms

1. What a reservation is

These Reservation Terms apply when you request and hold a reservation for a Roadster vehicle with Roadster (“we,” “us”).

A reservation is not a purchase agreement or an order. It does not create a contract to buy or sell a vehicle, does not transfer any ownership interest, and does not lock in price, specifications, options or a delivery date. Either you or we may cancel it as described below, and your deposit will be refunded in full.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the United States. Reservations are limited to two per person and per household. We may decline any reservation request at our discretion.

3. How reserving works

1. Request. Submit the form on our website. No payment is collected on the website.
2. Confirmation. If your request is accepted, we email you a secure link, usually within five business days, to pay the deposit through our third-party payment processor.
3. Reservation. Your reservation becomes active when the deposit payment succeeds and you receive a confirmation email with a reservation number.

Reservation links are only sent from an @roadster-preorder.us email address. We will never ask for payment by wire transfer, gift card, cryptocurrency or peer-to-peer payment app. Report suspicious messages to [email protected].

4. Reservation deposit

The reservation deposit is US $1,500. It is not a down payment until you sign a purchase agreement, at which point it may be applied toward the purchase price. The deposit does not earn interest. Unless applicable state law requires otherwise, deposits are not held in a separate escrow account.

5. Cancellation and refunds

• By you: you may cancel your reservation at any time before signing a purchase agreement by emailing [email protected] from the address on file. You will receive a full refund.
• By us: we may cancel a reservation at any time — for example, if the vehicle program is delayed, changed or discontinued, if we can't sell or deliver in your state, or if we reasonably suspect fraud, reselling or a breach of these terms. You will receive a full refund.
• Timing: refunds are issued to the original payment method within 10 business days of cancellation. Your bank may take additional time to post it.

6. Pricing, configuration and specifications

Prices, options, specifications, range and performance figures shown on the Site are estimates for pre-production vehicles and may change. Configurations you save are non-binding preferences. Final pricing, available options and specifications will be disclosed before you sign a purchase agreement, and you may cancel with a full refund if you don't wish to proceed.

7. Queue position and allocation

Reservations are generally invited to order in the sequence their deposits were received, within each region and trim. We may adjust sequencing based on production constraints, regulatory approvals, regional availability and configuration. We do not guarantee a specific position, build slot or delivery window.

8. Delivery timing

Deliveries are currently targeted to begin in late 2028. All dates are estimates and depend on development, regulatory certification, supplier readiness and production. We are not liable for delays, but you may cancel for a full refund at any time before signing a purchase agreement.

9. State laws and availability

Motor vehicle sales are regulated by each state, and some states restrict how manufacturers may sell directly to consumers. Before you place an order, we will explain how purchase, titling and delivery will work where you live — which may include purchasing through a licensed dealer or taking delivery in another state. If we cannot legally complete a sale to you, we will cancel your reservation and refund your deposit.

10. No transfers

Reservations are personal and may not be sold, transferred or assigned. Any attempt to transfer a reservation, including via online marketplaces, may result in cancellation and refund.

11. Communications

By holding a reservation, you agree to receive transactional emails about it. Please keep your contact details current. Marketing emails are sent only if you opt in; see our Privacy Policy.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to your reservation is limited to the refund of your reservation deposit. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages, including costs of alternative transportation or lost opportunities.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Reservation Terms are governed by the laws of the U.S. state in which you reside, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes are resolved as described in the dispute resolution section of our Terms of Use.

14. Changes

We may update these terms. Changes will not reduce your right to a full refund of your deposit before signing a purchase agreement. Material changes will be emailed to active reservation holders.
